I acquired a lot of new skills while working on the Web Design assignment. Such as design skills, as well as understanding of how website setups works. I used the design principles of proximity to align the images and text so that they look cohesive and good. I also used similar texts and colors to make the website look uniform. The biggest thing I didn't like about the website assignment is integrating the different features as it was complicated sometimes to set it up. Such as integrating the social media into my website as well as the calendar setup. I would use the knowledge of website design in the future to create my own website and already know the process so that it would be easier in the future.
I would use QR codes for extra credit purposes, it can be a mini activity related to the subject or part of a easter egg hunt. The student can scan it and be redirected to a checklist and an extra credit assignment. This will be a self-guided worksheet or a quiz on the subject that we are discussing. I could also use it to make it easier for students to get homework or any important information that I am presenting them.
Case: I plan on teaching elementary school and maybe using generative AI for a more productive classroom. Generative an ethical case related to educational technology useCaseEthical Case: “The AI Writing Buddy”
Scenario:
Ms. Rivera, a 4th-grade teacher, introduces a generative AI tool called WordPal to help students with creative writing. The tool can suggest ideas, improve word choice, and correct grammar. Her goal is to make writing more enjoyable and less intimidating for her students.
After a few weeks, she notices a few issues:
Some students rely heavily on WordPal and begin copying full paragraphs rather than writing their own ideas.
Parents raise concerns that their children’s voices are being “lost” because AI is changing how they write.
The school’s technology policy does not yet address generative AI, so it’s unclear what’s appropriate use or what data WordPal might collect from students.
One student’s personal information was accidentally entered into WordPal when prompted to “write a story about yourself,” raising potential privacy concerns under COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act).
In order to appraoch this case I would first inform students that this is wrong and would make it harder for them to learn in the future. Writing in their own voice is important for their own development and they lose that skill if they don't work on it. If that doesn't work I will be strict on AI use and will reprimand students with bad grades for using AI to write their papers. Multiple use of AI in paper could result in suspension and further actions. The ethical dilemma of children privacy is not something I would be able to solve or work on. It's something that has to come from government or AI company legal process.
