I selected the standard of Explore Hardware compatibility requirements. The standard is talking about how to disassemble and assemble a desktop, what each hardware does in the computer and how all of them affect the performance of the computer. The standard also talks about how network and Wi-fi work and the different components that make it word in our world today. I feel mildly prepared, I feel like I can learn more in detail about the parts of a desktop and how they function, but in general I know the hardware of the computer. I also know how to disassemble and do simple repairs to your computer. I would also have to learn more about how the network works in general. Overall I would be fine taking this class.
I used the video resource of Alexander Hamilton: The Outsider. This video presents students with a portion of Alexander Hamilton’s book and the student discusses how it relates to his life and values. The students will specifically focus on civic virtue and how Alexander Hamilton aligns with that idea. This resource can be used in class for 8th grade. While it might seem advanced it allows the students to view the writing and life of an influential man in history. The discussion will also allow students to explore the topic of civic virtue through a fun discussion between themselves and then presenting their findings to the class. The video can be used to present the discussion to the class and make it easier to understand the point of the assignment.
It’s really important to be a proficient Internet searcher as a teacher, because your voice influences young people. The information you provide and teach to students needs to be accurate and factual. While the resources and textbooks are provided, you need to have your voice and add to the textbook but make sure its accurate. The most important skill to know for a teacher is the credibility of the source. They need to know if the source is unbiased and recent so that their information is accurate. Also sources from websites such as gov or org are more accurate as they come from official government or organization sources. If they provide the wrong information to a child it might greatly affect them in the future and this information might affect how their perceive the information in the future.
