Decreased productivity due to the implementation of technology can be remedied by providing support to students struggling with academic discipline by motivating and recommending a system to decrease technology use in unhelpful ways. Also educating students on the dangers of consistent overuse of social media and how it affects mental health negatively. Students can be provided with alternatives to unhelpful technology use like journaling, art therapy, reading etc.  These can offer a healthy distraction from technology use in a way that is healthy and beneficial in the future. Students should also be encouraged to try new things and form hobbies in order to find a niche that they can spend more time in rather than just spend time using technology. 


I have learned about fair use and copyright in school before. I have learned about copyright while taking a digital design class in high school. As a teacher, I will explain what copyright and fair use is to my students and how it applies to student work like papers, presentations, etc. Students will be asked to not copy works outright and be sure to include the original works and/or cite what they have borrowed from them. I have concerns that students will rely on other sources more than their own creativity and critical thought. Students should be able to do their own research and make their own conclusions. Overall students should use other work as a basis and evidence for what their true voice is arguing for. 

While working on the newsletter I acquired multiple skills in word that would help me in the future. I learn how to use the column and different design features of word. As well as just getting more comfortable to use word with more practice of the program and its features. I also learned how to better manage white space, and how to change the design features for a specific part of the page.  In the future I could pact my newspaper more, leaving less white space behind. I could also make the text smaller and more information driven rather than image. In my future career I can use the skills for any job that requires word in the future. A lot of jobs need the knowledge of word and other Microsoft systems, so any knowledge that I could acquire about the systems will help me a lot. Also just being more comfortable with word will help me make my projects more presentable as well as work more efficient.

I hope to learn how to utilize technology in classrooms to help students learn. I want to learn about the different tools that teachers can use and also about the methods that they use to prevent student distractions. My experience with Word has always been divided. On one hand I like the multitude of functions it has compared to other software.  Like they more advanced page setups, AI integration, and just more play and ability to work with your design. On the other hand a lot of its functions are clunky and its not super friendly. All through my high school years I was mainly using Google Docs due to its simplicity and accessibility. I didn't need to buy a subscription or go through an app and multiple steps to write my paper. Google docs was just far more convenient. My worst experience with Word would be when I was working on a business project and any one small change to a page made everything change too, it might have been due to inexperience but that experience has been stuck with me.  Also whenever I tried to pdf the file everything would move around too much. Blog Post #5:

  My experience with blogging so far has been mixed. I think I like to write blogs and I would like to develop this skill further. At the moment I like the ability to express my voice in writing, as well as develop my writing skills. These skills could help me in my career as well as school life. I don’t like blogging because of the mental blocks you can have, especially with writing something creative or not factual that you can go off.  As of right now it's not that bad, because I have a prompt to write about.  I have learned a lot from blogging but most importantly I have learned to express and format my thoughts on paper. It helped me learn how to do that best and what programs I can have in writing.
